Operation: Sleeper Cell has launched. It’s an online game to raise money for Cancer Research UK and I’ve been rather involved in its making. You become a trainee of The Agency and complete missions to discover how to save the world from the clutches of E.V.I.L.

It’s free to play and there are puzzles, creative challenges, a story to follow, events in real life, and lots of top secret stuff that I’d love to tell you about but can’t. The game lasts ten weeks and there are new missions each week. If you enjoy things like treasure hunts, you should enjoy this I hope!

The centrepiece of the game is a grid with cells that contain missions. Each mission needs a donation to unlock it, with the team that donated the money getting a headstart over the other players. If you unlock a mission you can get to pick an image to go on that cell.

In addition to the mission cells, there are also other cells on the grid that can be sponsored with images and links to a website of your choice. The way this works is that the top 25 sponsors at any given point in time get their images and links on the grid itself, but there’s also a page with all sponsors on it too. At the moment, it’s incredibly cheap to sponsor a grid cell :-)

Also please do tell other people about the game and blog about this or otherwise relay the message. Cancer Research UK do great work and I really hope we manage to raise lots of money for them.
