Sometimes you slave over a post that you hope will get people thinking and clicking and get no response. Other times, something dashed off in a moment seems to connect with people for mostly inexplicable reasons.

I’m not quite ready to stake any big bets on it, but my ed tech radar is feeling like we are getting more blips about open education / open content / open learning… There is the grand experiment of Siemens and Downes on a Massively Open Online Course (acronym alert!

Leaders across the open educational resources movement have got together to author a book about “the potential of open education to transform the economics and ecology of education”.

There have been a couple of notable resources that have crossed my screen lately that merit a shout-out:

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation who have supported OpenLearn, recently sponsored a day long Arts Intensive workshop around how “digital media makers are are pushing the boundaries of collaboration and copyright”.
