Wow, the new interface for Google Maps Streetview is very slick! It fills the entire map frame, and you get a spinny controller (like in Google Earth) to rotate your view, plus drag and clicking the mouses gives a tilt-pan effect. So you can zoom down streets!

This week I’ll be focusing on getting the development site somewhere close to where we want it in terms of usability for the expert user testing that begins next week.I’ve just managed to get the location indicators working now so it’s possible to add a pin to the map that will give a vague representation of a location for times when users don’t want to be exact.I now ha

I’ve been working on the location recording side of things this past week, and have now changed the user interface on the map to hopefully work more intuitively. I’ve also created the ability for users to link observations to stored locations and also have these stored locations available via an RSS feed (maybe not much use at present, but something to build on).

I’ve linked my custom observation module into the drupal views module now to allow the creation of various views of the observation data.

Mozilla Labs have just launched the Ubiquity plugin for Firefox and to me it looks fantastic
