
I just had my first “shushing” today in the open plan working environment of the JLB. Don’t get me wrong. It was very politely done, but nevertheless it was a bit of a surprise.

We are in the middle of a great difficulty - the credit crunch which has accounted so far for one bank, and may well account for more. But I wonder how much media coverage tells the story right, and how much it exaggerates what is going on. If you read or listen long enough, most commentators get round to saying it's going to be manageable.


After an exciting holiday shared with the bat colony living in our loft appartment, I returned to install myself in the new building. Initial impressions are good. The ambient light filtering in through the translucent walls has a pleasant and soft hue and is pleasing to work in. The area I’m in has, thus far, been very empty.
